Red Door Theatre

Summer Camps

We offer seven or eight one week camps in the summer. Three of these camps are for children between 8 and 15, one is for children 10-15, and three of summer camps are dedicated to those between 5 and 9. Each camp with the older children ends in the public performance of four shows complete with costumes, make-up, sets and theatrical lighting and sound that add a professional and polished look to each production.

The shows range from adaptations of classics such as The Hobbit and The Wizard of Oz to original plays such as Westward Bound and The Sword and the Crystal. Shakespeare, musicals, stories from popular books or movies as well as those based on other cultures are also common themes for the shows produced at theatre camp.

K&K (Kit & Kaboodle) STaGE Theatre camps are one of a kind run by professional directors. It is not unusual for children participate in 15 to 30 of these remarkably affordable camps.

Summer Camp Registration will begin April 13 at 8am!

2019 Summer Camp Schedule

Theatre Friends!!
We are excited to spend the Summer of 2019 at the Red Door with you! We can't wait to get started! Registration for our summer camps will begin on April 13th at 8:00 a.m.
Please remember that our camps are popular and there may be some who do not get in. You increase your chance of acceptance if you log on to our website at 8:00 a.m. on April 13th. All applications are time stamped and registration is first-come, first serve. When the camp is full – it is full.
**Our website does not update automatically. To the best of our ability, we monitor the registrations as they come in. As soon as we are sure that a camp is full, we remove that camp from the registration form. Because this has to be done manually, it is possible for camps to appear open when they are, in fact, full. We will notify you by email to let you know whether or not you are have a spot.

When a camp is full, it is added to our Summer Camp Waiting List page. If the camp you want is not listed on the Summer Camps Registration page, you will find it on the Waiting List page. This list is also first-come, first-serve, so please fill it out sooner rather than later.

Important! If you are 8 years old you must have attended a Junior camp either this year or last summer to be part of our 8 - 15 year old camps. Your 8 year old may be experienced elsewhere, but our rules, methods and expectations are geared for our theatre and our performances. Thank you for understanding.

The musical selections from Broadway, Disney and more that are practiced during the week will be presented on Friday night in a musical variety show. This camp is for 11 to 19 year olds and does require that you sing. While you may only sign up for a total of two acting camps, this camp can be signed up for as a third camp. When Tales Collide
Written by Margie Secora
Directed by Megan Banks

K&K co-founder Margie Secora wrote When Tales Collide in 1997, and it instantly became one of Megan's favorites. This summer she's finally decided to direct it! A wizard's potion spills over onto a storybook that brings to life all the right characters in all the wrong stories. The mayhem is rampant as the wolves mix up piggies with grannies and the dwarves and elves mix up jewels with shoes. Also on the loose are giants, and witches, and bears, oh my! The Three Little Pigs serve as the audience's guide through this zany romp in the forest. It's a confusing state of affairs until Brother Grimm comes to the rescue and rewrites the ending to this fractured fairy tale.
