Red Door Theatre

S.T.a.G.E. Children's Theatre

S.T.a.G.E. stands for Student Theatre Arts Group Enterprises also known simply as Stage Camps. It is a unique program that affords young people the opportunity to experience all areas of a theatrical production. Since its inception, over 140 productions have offered a creative, inspiring, educational and rewarding experience. Hundreds of children have come back time and time again to take part in the after school camps, as well as the vacation camps.

Eleven camps are offered throughout the year; seven one week camps in the summer, a fall and spring after-school camp and a winter and spring vacation camp. Eight of the camps are for children between 8 and 15, while three summer productions are dedicated to those between 5 and 9. Each camp with the older children ends in the public performance of four shows complete with costumes, make-up, sets and theatrical lighting and sound that add a professional and polished look to each production.

The shows range from adaptations of classics such as The Hobbit and The Wizard of Oz to original plays such as Westward Bound and The Sword and the Crystal. Shakespeare, musicals, stories from popular books or movies as well as those based on other cultures are also common themes for the shows produced at theatre camp.

K&K (Kit & Kaboodle) STaGE Theatre camps are one of a kind run by professional directors. It is not unusual for children participate in 15 to 30 of these remarkably affordable camps.

Island of No Return

Written by Lyle Pearsons, Directed by Lyle Pearsons

The village of Cadonne has always been a peaceful, quiet cliff town high above The Black Sea. Until one day, the ships of 13 notorious Pirate Captains from the Seven Seas meet to form an alliance that will lay waste to the shipping lanes of every coastline country. The village is ransacked, all the parents made prisoners and slaves to the pirates, and all the children sent to an island inhabited by the "Marooners". How the children escape the island, rescue their parents from the pirates, and restore their village to law and order makes for an exciting camp. So, climb aboard, me hearties - or walk the plank.

Swamped
by John Jacobson and John Higgins

The swamp is all a-buzz with party preparations galore! Naturally, the turtles are running late, and Bully the Frog is being a bully. The frogs have learned a new dance they want to share. The tadpoles are growing appendages (yikes!) and the dragonfly larvae need encouragement to spread their wings and fly. Lessons of friendship, tolerance, courage to face the future, and more, abound!

*We will have camp on the 4th of July. Our camps are only a week long, so we do not allow absences.

**We understand that these are hard times for everyone, but we hate to see kids miss out on camp. If you need to set up a payment plan in order to pay for camp, call us and speak to Lyle or Marilene. We'd be happy to do all we can to help. **
