Red Door Theatre

S.T.a.G.E. Children's Theatre

S.T.a.G.E. stands for Student Theatre Arts Group Enterprises also known simply as Stage Camps. It is a unique program that affords young people the opportunity to experience all areas of a theatrical production. Since its inception, over 140 productions have offered a creative, inspiring, educational and rewarding experience. Hundreds of children have come back time and time again to take part in the after school camps, as well as the vacation camps.

Eleven camps are offered throughout the year; seven one week camps in the summer, a fall and spring after-school camp and a winter vacation camp. Eight of the camps are for children between 8 and 15, while three summer productions are dedicated to those between 5 and 9. Each camp with the older children ends in the public performance of four shows complete with costumes, make-up, sets and theatrical lighting and sound that add a professional and polished look to each production.

The shows range from adaptations of classics such as The Hobbit and The Wizard of Oz to original plays such as Westward Bound and The Sword and the Crystal. Shakespeare, musicals, stories from popular books or movies as well as those based on other cultures are also common themes for the shows produced at theatre camp.

K&K (Kit & Kaboodle) STaGE Theatre camps are one of a kind run by professional directors. It is not unusual for children participate in 15 to 30 of these remarkably affordable camps.

Elfis and the Sleigh Riders
by Teresa Jennings

Eflis is back with a new tale to tell!
It's the holiday season at the North Pole, and Elfis the Elf is singin' and swingin' in style! All of the gang there love to hear him play his guitar and perform. Santa Claus is particularly fond of Elfis and his music, and as a surprise, he decides to find a band for Elfis. The newly formed group is called, "Elfis and The Sleigh Riders." Alas, as it sometimes happens, not all goes well. The members of The Sleigh Riders get into an argument over who is going to sing a solo. They are unable to resolve their differences, and the band splits up. Can the elves, the reindeer, Santa and Mrs. Claus, help put the band back together? Will someone remind them of the value and importance of friendship and communication? In this classic rock'n'roll rendition of elf meets band, elf loses band, elf gets band, the message is the nurturing of friendships.

**We understand that these are hard times for everyone, but we hate to see kids miss out on camp. If you need to set up a payment plan in order to pay for camp, call us and speak to Lyle or Marilene. We'd be happy to do all we can to help. **
